A hero who saved lives and helped people all his life is now fighting for his and needs our help.

James has spent his entire life helping people.  He is a registered nurse now.  He was a paramedic for the fire department.  He was on the SWAT team as a paramedic caring for injuries during emergency calls. He flew with life flights helping people all over the country caring for the sick while airborne.

When he was 25 years old he saved a man's life who was trapped under a steam roller that turned upside down in a swamp trapping the operator underneath.  James pulled over and held his head above water until help came.  He left the scene and was driving out to California.  The search was on the news  for "The man in the Red Bandana" so the gentleman and the city could thank him.

James Denomme is my brother.  James has ALS, Amyotrophis Lateral Sclerosis.  Our mother passed away from ALS in 2006.

James is married and has three young girls at home,  ages 13, 9 and 2, and he also has two older children in California.  James can no longer walk.  He is in a wheelchair.   His day starts at 7:00 a.m. when his wife, Melan, gets him ready for work and gets their three girls ready for school.    Melan takes James for treatments and then to work.  James works eight hour days five days a week as an RN at Windmoor Healthcare.   He often does not get home till 10:00 p.m.   This family desperately need some relief.

James needs to live in a house that suits his needs.   Melan picks James up from his chair to help him to the restroom and to get him in bed.  They need a hoist.  He needs easy accesible shower facilities.

ALS is a disease that causes the death of neurons which control voluntary muscles.  There is no known cure.
