James Thomas Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Sunday, August 3rd, our brother James (Jimmy) Thomas was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident in Houston, Texas where he lives and works.
He was immediately life flighted to Memorial Hermann Medical Trauma Center. Family was contacted and Carol and Beverly, his sisters, took the first flight out of Nashville to Houston to be by his side and assist in making decisions for him. Jimmy sustained a brain injury, a brain bleed, several concussions, facial and head lacerations with over 27 staples and stitches to close his scalp. He sustained a broken nose, broken and shattered hand and an open fracture of his right knee, upper and lower leg. The bones in his leg are absolutely crushed. When we arrived in Houston we saw Jimmy and this site was simply shocking. He has multiple abrasions throughout his body. He was intubated on the scene of the accident and is in the Shock Trauma ICU. He was placed in a medication induced coma and placed on a ventilator. He has had several CT scans and MRI scans which have revealed three fractures in his spine. A back/neck brace has been placed to stabilize this.
The team of medical doctors has informed us that he will require several surgeries and skin grafts over the next several months. We pray he will wake up and be able to rehabilitate. He has a very  long road ahead to say the least.
Jimmy is the youngest of four siblings. He is independent and moved to Houston approximately 1 year ago due to a job opportunity. He works at Oceaneering and loves his job and loves the people around him.  Jimmy has always had a huge heart full of kindness and compassion and would give anything to help a friend or stranger.
At this time we still do not know the full extent of Jimmy's injuries or the neurological outcome but we do know his road to recovery is going to be long, difficult and costly.
Many people have come forward to express their concern, offer prayers (which are GREATLY appreciated) and asked what they can do to help. The truth is prayers help immensely but there is another way people can help and that is by way of monetary donations.
If you are able to give any amount, no matter how big or small, the good it will do Jimmy is immeasurable.
In the coming days, weeks and months we will continue to update everyone on Jimmy's status and the progress we are praying he will make.
All donations will be used to assist with Jimmy's medical expenses above and beyond what his health insurance will cover, continued health insurance premiums through Cobra and future rehabilitation.
Thank you in advance for any donation and please continue to pray for Jimmy, our family and friends who love him.
We truly believe in the concept of "Pay it Forward".
Thank you and God Bless You!
