12 months in South Africa

Donation protected
PROJECT TRUST is an educational charity which sends around 280 young volunteers per year abroad to work voluntarily in over 20 countries, without taking work from local people. Volunteers are selected through a rigorous 4 day period on the Isle of Coll, Scotland. This is me and fellow volunteers on the island last October.

Originally the charity matched my character with Ghana, one of the most laid back countries in Africa - not sure what that says about my personality. However, Project had to pull the volunteers from Ghana this year and instead I was offered a place to South Africa, which I had my eyes set on and ironically spent a year learning about the history of country at first year university level in school, so for me it's fulfilling visiting the truly incredible "Rainbow Nation". I will be 17 when I travel and of course I am excited and enthusiastic but also have a few anxieties going away for such a long time at a young age. But I am determined; this once in a lifetime experience the charity have offered me gives me the chance to give something to a community and hopefully make a difference.

Date of departure August 2014. Updates will follow. All monies will go to Project Trust www.projecttrust.org.uk and I will publish receipt of totals by the charity.
