Jadyn’s Story
As I begin to write this, my heart is breaking… I have strong faith, but even mine is shaken a little. Let me begin by introducing you to Jadyn Cash…
She is a beautiful little girl with a sweet and free spirit. The little boy that she is holding onto with all of her might is her big brother DeShaun. Jadyn is a 5 year old princess; this princess is suffering from a life threatening Heart Condition (Cardiomyopathy with serious complications in all 4 chambers of her heart). Her big brother DeShaun ( 6 years old), was taken to heaven Sept 4, 2014. He lost his battle with the same heart condition that his sister has. DeShaun was a high energy little boy and loved to run and play. He had such a servant’s heart and was always lending a hand to someone in need, young or old, it didn’t matter to him. He was taken from this earth way to early. At the time of his passing, it was not known that his condition was as advanced as it was. At the time, the doctor did not make the parents aware of the severity of his condition and that heart failure/attack was imminent. At the time he was taken he was busy showing off his new socks that he was so very proud of. Now at this time, his sister’s condition has been further researched thanks to the Pediatric Cardiology Department of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and they have put sweet little Jadyn on the Heart Transplant list to receive a new heart. The trip to the hospital was thought to be one to see if she would qualify for and ICD implant that could potentially restart her heart if she suffered a heart attack/failure like her brother. The news was not as expected. The doctors said that and ICD would probably not aid in saving her, that she must have a new heart to survive. Apparently this is also what would have saved her brother, but the cardiologist that was treating both children did not mention this as an option or even bring it up at any visit.
I guess you could say that if not for DeShaun being taken so early, the trip to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital would have never taken place and no one would have ever known that a new heart could save Princess Jadyn. DeShaun is watching out for his little sister.
Now that I have introduced you all to these two beautiful children, I must now ask you for something. The family is in dire need of funding for the medical bills that are going to be coming by the truck load. They have health insurance, but it will not even begin to cover the insurmountable amount of medical bills and expenses that are in their very near future. They have just started down this path with their first trip to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital being this week. There is not a schedule at this point for Jadyn’s return visit. There is not a schedule for how long it will take to find a new heart for Princess Jadyn.
In writing this my heart is also breaking for another reason…In order for Princess Jadyn to receive the Heart Transplant that we are desperately hoping and praying for, another family will be suffering the same heartache that we have in the loss of our precious DeShaun. Another must perish in order to save the one. Our Deepest Thank You to all of the organ donors out there and to the Family of the donor that will have to suffer to save our Princess Jadyn. The thought of losing one to gain another is heart wrenching…Our prayers for all of those who suffer such a loss.
With all of that being said, this family needs help. I have started a fund raising effort with GoFundMe.com and all funds will go directly into an account earmarked for medical and travel expenses for Jadyn. Please give as you can and as your heart directs you. Prayers for the family and Princess Jadyn are needed badly as well. May God wrap his loving and merciful arms around this family and comfort them in their recent loss of their son and hold Princess Jadyn close to him and his healing hands. I will be posting updates on Princess Jadyn’s story and keep all informed. We have found out that there are a lot of caring and wonderful people in this world that try to help when they can. There are so many in need out there, times are tough all over, whatever can be done to help with Saving Princess Jadyn is GREATLY appreciated. Please help in her fight.
