After an extremely difficult year for our family, Jacque is yet again faced with another, potentially serious, medical obstacle.
2014 began with a simple septoplasty procedure to hopefully correct the recurring sinus infections she has had most of her adult life. Dr. Eskew came to the conclusion that this was the main cause of the 15+ ear surgeries she's had to have due to serious infections. Many of which needed interveneous antibiotics for months at a time since the age of 16. This time the antibiotic Bactrim was given to her after the septoplasty pwe then discovered she had a severe allergic reaction to sulfa (the main ingredient in Bactrim) when she was hospitalized for two weeks with Colitis.
Then in July 2014 she had to have an emergency spinal fusion, on L5 S1, after she lost complete feeling in her left leg and foot, after one week of inpatient therapy she developed a hematoma in the epidural space of her spine, which meant another emergency surgery and more therapy.
After a few good months and hard work in physical therapy life was looking up....until December 20, 2014 while we were Christmas shopping for our kids, she fainted on concrete flooring, cracked her skull and seized. Having never seized before she was hospitalized until Christmas Eve. Every day since she has had vertigo and been unable to drive in case she has another seziure. Today, January 13, she is back in the hospital due to possibly experiencing many small seizures and constant vertigo. We are hoping and praying for answers.
We never thought we would have to ask for help from others, and would much rather give than to receive. We do have health insurance and are working on Medicaid but it's just not enough for what we need. Donations will go to medical bills, rent, groceries and clothes for the kids.
