Jackson is a fourty-eight day old baby boy currently in the NICU of Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Jackson is provided air via ventilator and breathing tube. He is fed through a tube. He has had two unsuccessful attempts to extubate, returning to the ventilator both times with CO2 levels too high to sustain.
Jackson was born with muiltiple congenital defects, including: Side-splayed ribs, Scoliosis, lower left leg shorter than his right leg, an enlarged liver, and twelve toes, as well as being born six weeks early.
He is also the most beautiful little boy that we (his parents) have ever seen.
Right now the future is uncertain for us and for Jack. A lot of doctors at Childrens are doing everything they can to give us a plan and options for Jack. Specialists including Orthopaedics, Pulmonary, Broncho Pulmonary Disorder, and Ear/Nose/Throat, will soon be going over Jack and telling us what will happen in the coming months that he will be in the NICU.
Until then we stay at the Ronald McDonald House (a wonderful place, filled with wonderful people).
However Jack has an older brother (Connor, 8) and two older sisters (Kairi, 11, and Julia, 12) that also need our attention and care, necessitating often trips 'back home,' a hundred mile round trip. At this point, we're trying to keep two families running and we are stretched to the limit.
All funds raised will go to day-to-day expenses required to keep everything going and to try to give Jacks brother and sisters as normal a life as we can give them.
