Support JaBig in Cycling The USA For Charity

My name is JaBig, a DJ from Canada that also just really likes riding bikes.

Since February 2022, I am on a cycling tour around the United States of America to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief.

This epic 6-month journey of a lifetime will cover 10,000 miles (16,000 km) with in 27 states, including Washington, D.C. 

I hope to raise as much funds as possible in order to provide bicycles to children, especially young girls, in rural Africa so they can attend school by using the power of mobility. Children, the world over, deserve a chance at an education that will enrich their minds and provide opportunities they never thought possible.

 

Regrettably, there are a number of expenses involved with a bicycle tour of this magnitude and even with the generous resources commitments from my corporate sponsors and limited DJ bookings (due to COVID-19 cancelling events), it is not enough to cover any unplanned expenses such as the occasional hotel room, meals and bike services if no alternatives are available and also in the case of an emergency.

 

This is where I am humbly asking for help from my family, friends and fans. However, your help doesn’t necessarily have to be monetary support….it can be in the form of offering a warm bed or sofa for a good night’s sleep, a meal, a cup of herbal tea,  a ride along or vehicular escort (please make a public post or send me a private message).

This GoFundMe is targeted at my family members, friends, fans of my DEEP & DOPE mixes  and those who follow my many adventure trips by bicycle most of who have been supportive of my journeys starting with the Guinness World Record-setting ride across Canada in Winter on a fixed-gear bike in 2016 which documented in "Escape" the award-winning film that was screened at over 150 festivals worldwide.



That only increased my appetite for epic expeditions in the form of a round-the world ride (https://www.sram.com/fr/life/stories/jabigs-biggest-ride-yet) that got cut short after five months due to the COVID-19 pandemic after cycling through parts of the USA and crossing the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Switzerland before the Canadian government urged to return to my Montréal hometown.

Back in home, I was restless so in Summer 2020 in the middle of COVID-19-19, I rode across Canada for the second time, this time in Summer to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief, a successful challenge that I managed to finish right before the second wave that shut down the country again.



In 2021, I moved to Vancouver in British Columbia where I would spend days in the province's mountains and rode the Triple Triple Crown , an almost 24-hour ride up and down three of Vancouver's tallest mountains to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief .

Here I am again in 2022, seeking your support to ride what will probably the most interesting of all my adventures so far and for a very good charitable cause: to help children get to and stay in school in rural Africa.
