Palmer veteran needs our help!

Jim Thompson has lived in Alaska since he was 10 years old. He served in the Army, Navy, Marines and was in the Alaska National Guard.  Jim proudly served his country for over 20 years.  Jim has been a pillar in the community and was clinic manager of 4 hyperbaric medical facilities in Alaska and Hawaii.  Jim has personally helped thousands of people and has saved many lives. 
In 2004 Jim was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy of his heart and was given 6 months to live.  He beat the odds with alternative treatments. 
In 2016 Jim was found to have a serious heart arrhythmia and had heart surgery.  He has not completely recovered from that and has now been diagnosed with severe stage C Congestive Heart Failure and severe Interstitial Lung Disease which leaves him extremely fatigued and short of breath and on supplemental oxygen.  He only has 25% of lung function left.  He also suffers from a seizure disorder that has not been controlled by medicine. Jim has difficulty just performing day to day tasks.
Jim has full physical custody of his 8 year old grandson and he is doing a wonderful job taking care of this sweet little boy. 
Jim has been a hard worker and has sacrificed so much for others, he has never asked for a handout or charity from anyone.  Those who know him can testify to his kindness to everyone he knows.  He would give the shirt off his back or his last morsal of food to anyone in need.
Jim is trying to build a home for himself and his family.  He has been unable to work because of his health and he has run out of funds.  Currently the well and septic are in and he is building walls.
Despite his current condition, he still goes and works on the property every day he is able to.
