Hey everyone I hope you are all feeling well and healthy, my name is John Ellis, I’m an Australian actor who lives in London & works in the West End & Internationally. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 I lost my job playing a lead role in the Phantom of the Opera. Obviously the theatre industry has been decimated & all concerts, shows & auditions have completely stopped. So I have decided to be pro active and move forward on a follow up album to the one I created earlier this year. The funds I’m trying to raise will go towards the hire of a studio, 3 musicians, & a back up singer, it will also go towards the recording engineer, who will not only record the music, but be needed in post production, edits, mixing, & mastering. I will hope to record some of my own new material which I have been working on with a writer in Australia, but may also work on some covers, which in turn will need royalties to be paid. I will need to pay for the manufacturing & cover art to be done, as well as keeping some money to be put aside for small runs of publicity to generate interest in the album. I have worked hard for many years to build a small profile from playing leading roles in such shows as Cats, Phantom, Jesus Christ Super Star, as well as being a sort after soloist for many concert venues throughout Europe, Asia & the UK. Being a classically trained singer I have found myself of late being drawn towards heldentenor like roles in both the opera &bmusical theatre worlds, but it’s my love of all styles of music which drive me forward to pursue this opportunity. I understand that we are all feeling it at the moment, but I would be eternally grateful for any support your able to give in my endeavour to obtain the funds to continue in my creative pursuits. I don’t want to be defined by the year I turned 40, as the year I let COVID-19 stop me from moving forward into my 20th year as a professional in an industry I love and have worked so hard to get to where I am!
