Racing for a Cause: IronMan Chattanooga.

Hi Everyone!
My name is Jenna Lee Tameris. I am 24 years old looking to do something greater than myself. As some of you may know, I have competed in two IronMan triathlon races. Both of them took place in Louisville, Kentucky - the first one when I was 20 (August 2011) and the second one this past summer at the age of 23 (August 2014). I thought I needed to make my third one special and here is where you guys can help make my dream a reality...
The goal is to raise 1,400 dollars - ten dollars for every mile of the 140.6 mile race (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run). For every ten dollars you donate, one mile will be dedicated to you/your family/someone of your choosing. I will have a list of those names and carry them with me on the bike and run. That piece of paper will help me stay motivated! And trust me, around mile 80 of the bike I normally start struggling :)
The first 700 dollars will be donated to the IronMan Foundation. The IronMan Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that aims to enhance the well-being of those in the communities where IronMan events are held. The Foundation provides grant funding opportunities for local and regional non-profit organizations through The IronMan Foundation’s Community Fund.
The second 700 dollars will be donated to Pediatric Cancer Research. I am a Nurse and have always had an interest to help spread awareness for childhood cancer. My career goal is to eventually end up on a Children's Oncology floor and start up a not-for-profit organization for Pediatric Cancer. By doing this, I feel this is the first stepping stone towards becoming an Oncology Nurse!
