JA Memorial Pilgrimages

Donation protected
During World War II, over 110,000 Japanese Americans and people of Japanese descent were forced to leave the West Coast of the United States and were put into ten concentration camps in out of the way places in the middle of the country. Every year, thousands of survivors and their families travel to these camps on pilgrimages in search of understanding and healing.

Japanese American Memorial Pilgrimages is a website that encourages attendance of the pilgrimages to former site of incarceration as well as recording oral histories of survivors.

Last year we raised funds that allowed us to attend five pilgrimages, visit seven campsites and thirteen assembly center sites.

This year not only do we plan on attending eight pilgrimages, we are putting on one of our own to Jerome and Rohwer!

We have applied for a major grant to fund our work, however, the funds would not be available until the summer when the majority of pilgrimage season is over. Therefore, we need your help again!

Please help fund our travels to pilgrimages this year. We appreciate your support for our project and for the preservation of Japanese American history!
