Support Richie Z's Family

We are friends of Richie Zoellner! He has touched our lives with a fighting spirit that few possess. We look to support him and his family any way we can during their continued fight against ALS. My name is Richard Hartley and I have been working together with Ralph Balber to create a potential monetary avenue in support of this amazing family.
Ralph has known Richie Z for about 15 years and has reconnected the past year with him by chance.
"I have been a teammate of Rich Zoellner in our men's hockey league and have known this gentleman for 15+ years and am lucky enough to be able to call him a friend." Ralph, is competing in an Ironman (October 22nd, Wilmington, North Carolina) event to help support our friend, Richie Z and his family, through their fight with ALS.
I have had a chance to sit down with Ralph and talk a briefly about Richie Z and he told me a few amazing points about Richie Z's character... " He absolutely refuses to give up. He's not ready to stop fighting. Richie has been an inspiration to those around him with his positive spirit. When I had the opportunity to actually meet the Zoellner family it was extremely evident of the quality of character, despite ALS overtaking their lives. Two things that stuck out within minutes of meeting Richie and Stacey Z:
1) Richie Z is excited about life! Richie is excited about life. Being confined to a motorized wheelchair, having a feeding tube, a tracheotomy and is on a ventilator
for the majority of his days doesn't stop his spirit. He is more excited about each day then I have seen from anyone in a long time. His presence and excitement are infectious in such a good way.
2) Stacey Z is a rock! She was very accommodating and very open when telling me so many of the issues and answering all of my questions. She takes care of Richie and their daughter without a second thought. She schedules meetings and caregivers and manages "the books," so to speak. She is one of the strongest-willed people that I have ever met.
Ralph is out training now for the ironman in Wilmington, N.C., October 22, 2016. He needs your support and help in the form of donation to the Zoellner family. We will be posting some training pics and hopefully some video too very soon.
