IRON WILL (Bullock)

Donation protected

Will Bullock is an amazing 17 year old kid! He loves life and loves to have fun. He is a fantastic musician and plays acoustic, bass and electric guitars. He also plays the ukulele, mandolin, drums and piano. He will play music anywhere, anytime, with anyone. He enjoys going to movies with friends and hanging out playing video games. He’s a fantastic student and loves to travel with his dad, mom and two sisters.  The family loves to camp and hike together.

Will has always been physically active. He was raised on a farm, and helped take care of his family’s livestock; helped build barns and fences; and mowed pastures.  As a kid, Will played soccer and football.  More recently, Will began running 5ks, and won his age division in his last race.  Will had just joined the swim team at his high school  when his active life came to an abrupt halt by a debilitating illness that continues to be a medical mystery.

On September 24, 2016, Will became ill with what was thought to be a stomach virus. After a week of doctor visits and medicines, Will had to be hospitalized for dehydration. Shortly, Will had to have PICC line and a feeding tube to keep him alive as it became clear that something very bad had happened to his stomach. Since that September day, 18 months ago, Will has not been able to hold any food down, his body rejects everything he tries to eat.

Because his case is such a mystery,  Will has been passed from specialist to specialist.  He's seen doctors in Shreveport, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Columbus and Boston to try to find treatments that would have any effective results.

Will's health has declined, and because of debilitating nausea and weakness, Will is unable to go to school, or do any of his previous activities.   He is homebound and often bedbound.

Some of the specialists call what he has gastroparesis, others have yet to commit to a diagnosis.  All agree that  why he has what he has is a mystery. They  are still trying to figure out if this illness was caused by damage done to the nerves in his stomach by a virus, a genetic issue, or some other cause. Many medicines have been tried, but none have been successful. Experimental medicines surgeries are being discussed.

During this journey, Will has been strong.  He has been a warrior. He has never complained. He doesn’t feel sorry for himself, or get angry that this has happened to him. Please pray with us that Will’s health is restored. We believe that God is able to heal him miraculously. We also know that God uses medical doctors to deliver miraculous healings. We wait for the day that Will can eat, run and play music with his friends again.

Donations will help his family cover the costs of Will's continued medical journey.    The cost of travel and Will's mom quitting work to care for him have been a challenge.   The entire family thanks you for your generosity.  We bring this situation to the Lord daily and believe Will's healing is coming.   Your prayers are greatly appreciated!
