In Feb. 2018 my husband, James, and I had the privilage to go to Mbale, Uganda to visit our dear friends Sam and Debby Waniaye. They are local Ugandans that we have been friends with for over 15 years. They currently live in the Slums of Namatala where he is the local pastor of a church and the head master of Divine Care Primary School. https://www.facebook.com/divinecareps/
Many of you contributed money for The Shoe That Grows, to put 30 pairs of shoes on kids that needed shoes! And what a blessing that was!! And I will want to continue with this, as many children didn't get shoes, but I have another project that I want to share with you all, that is more pressing on my heart.
When we went to Sam and Debby's home for dinner, I saw the conditions in which they live in; no toliets, no showers, no sink to clean dishes, so no running water and no sewer. (see the pictures below of their home) The good news is they have water and sewer hook ups just outside their home! Mbale City has been trying to make improvements to the Slum area.
I wanted to use this campaign to raise the funds to bring running water and sewer into Sam and Debby's home so he and his family can be blessed and be a blessing to those around their neighborhood.
There is no timeframe for raising the money, but as soon as we reach our goal then we can begin construction. Sam has put a list of items together to make this project happen. We we need your help!
Wenzel's Wayside is all about enriching the lives of others along the way. This is one act of enriching a family of 5 to be blessed but to aslo be a blessing to others around them.
If you support us in the effort it will mean that you too are wanting to enrich a person's life, one life at a time!
We would be SO greatfull if you were to stand with us in this act of love.
