Atlanta to NE India Musical Pilgrimage

Thank you so much for visiting my GoFundMe page! I created it because a group [comprised mostly of choir members from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta (UUCA)] will be traveling to NE India to participate in a musical tour of Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregations in the Khasi Hills, in February 2014! The trip is being arranged by the UU Partnership Church Council (http://www.uupcc.org/) and our objective-- and my fondest desire-- is to travel with them and promote peace, love, joy and fellowship to our Khasi brothers and sisters, through the universal language of music!
Unfortunately, the trip is very expensive and scholarships are not available through our congregation, since the trip is being arranged by an external organization. Also, I've been so busy these days with my involvement in a number of musical ensembles, getting a second job to finance my trip is, simply put, out of the question!
Soooo, I had an idea...
Aside from saving every red cent I can get my hands on, I decided to create a fundraising campaign! However, instead of just asking for contributions, I decided to add a twist to my fundraising strategy. Here's how it works...
Each sponsor who contributes $30.00 or more to my India trip fund will receive a lovely infinity scarf, in a color of their choice, which I will crochet for them personally (see the attached photo for an example)! These are extremely versatile pieces that can be worn a number of ways. They make wonderful gifts or a fashionable addition to any wardrobe!
JUST ADDED FOR 2014: I am now also offering hand-knitted ruffle scarves, for $20.00 (if you are a previous contributor or will furnish your own ruffle yarn) and $25.00 (for new contributors or those who would like me to furnish the yarn)!
Even if you don't need or want a scarf, any amount you wish to contribute would be received with gratitude! Regardless of the amount, your contribution will help me move closer to my goal and would be appreciated more than words can say!
