Immediate Relief for Undocumented Immigrants
The purpose of this fund, is to help relatives of the undocumented community residing in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Conneticut, that have succumbed to the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund will cover the cremation expenses of their loved ones. The Club Chinelos de Morelos en Nueva York has been in the front lines since day one, we have served as a liaison between the families who have lost relatives with funeral homes, hospitals and the General Consulate of Mexico in New York.
Approximately 260 Mexicans have lost their lives. The cremation costs range between two thousand and eight thousand dollars (48 thousand and 194 thousand pesos), prices that increased due to the demand for services and the risk posed by the handling of the infected bodies of COVID-19.
Families have just up to two weeks to retire their loved ones body, otherwise it will go to the mass grave. It’s in such difficult and short time, we appeal to your generosity to rapidly help these families greatly affected by pain and death.
