Party for Kids in Foster Care
Donation protected
Do you remember how exciting it was at the beginning of a new school year? Perhaps you weren't quite ready for summer to end, but you were ready to head back to the school you knew and friends you'd missed to begin another year.
When a child is removed from her home due to abuse or neglect, she often leaves everyone she knows and everything she owns behind. She will likely start a new school and have to make new friends. All while surrounded by strangers and an unfamilar environment at home as well. We want to give her a little chance to smile again.
Each year, CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County, the CPS Board, and Love Fosters Hope host a back to school event for children who have been removed from their home by CPS due to abuse and neglect and are now living in foster homes. It is, quite simply, a fun pizza party for children who may not be experiencing much "fun" lately. Last year, 230 children in Montgomery County were able to attend – they had FUN playing games, winning prizes and eating pizza. This is an event that allows kids to be kids.
We need to raise $1,500 by Friday, September 23rd to make this happen.
Thank you for your help in providing a happy, back to school experience for these kids!
Together, we are bringing back a sense of "normal" to the lives of children who haven’t felt it in a while.
