A common indicator of the strength and health of an economy is the level of education of its populace. Sri Lankans especially know this to be true and we put in substantial effort to ensure quality education for all at a national level.

We at ISM APAC recognize this. The fact that we’re a leading software company benefitting daily form the knowledge economy only accentuates our resolve not to stand idly by as this resource depletion happens.

Last year (2016) when the initiative began, we chose a remote school in the North Central Province to focus our efforts. This decision was informed by our inquiries in to the spread of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in the region. We found out that the disease poses a major threat to the children in the area, often resulting high rates of dropping out of school due to illness, and even death.

In the same vein, this year we’ve decided to support T / Kan/ Peramaduwa Vidyalaya, Agbopura, Kanthale, Sri Lanka by providing below much needed facilities.

-          Building with the capacity for Two classrooms

-          Sanitation unit for Boys

Why this school was selected

-          School has a clear vision on how to improve the school education and infrastructure

-          Parents and teachers also part of the discussions and committed for the development of the school

-          School is located in an isolated area which even do not have proper transportation
