Irene Rose & Emerson "TEAM CANADA"
Hello!
As you know I do not participate on social media often, if at all. Unless of course there's an undeniably inspiring quote worthy of a share or I'm reaching out to remind everyone to get their sweet littles into my dance classes ;)
Well, an opportunity so special has come to my very own littles, I'm using the platform to reach out on their behalf. Allow me to proudly introduce my two eldest: Irene Rose and Emerson Santos, 10 and 8 year old Competitive Dancers at the Canadian Dance Company in Oakville, ON.
We are thrilled to announce that they have been chosen by TEAM CANADA DANCE to represent Canada at the official Show Dance Championships to be held in Prague, Czech Republic this September.
WHAT IS IT?!
The International Dance Organization (IDO), is a World Dance and Dance-Sport Federation with a membership of over 90 Nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers, from six continents. The best dancers from around the World will be competing for the World Champion Title! www.ido-dance.com
HOW WILL WE GET THERE?
Dance is not recognized in Canada as a Sporting Event (even though these kids are as dedicated as any Olympic athlete!). Team Canada has also been unsuccessful in obtaining a major sponsor or any Government Support thus far. As a result, each dancer is required to obtain their own sponsors to support this incredible opportunity. Necessary funds cover all travel, (air & ground), rehearsals, coaches, Team Canada jackets, hotels and Canadian and International entry starter fees. With two going, you can imagine all this adds up quickly!
WHY?
We love to dance! It has always been a part of our family and we are fondly proud of the memories our hard work and dedication have given us all so far. As the only brother sister siblings on the team, they are excited and grateful to share this experience together. For me, I can truly say that dance has helped shape their growing characters and most importantly created friendships that I know will last a lifetime.
One hundred percent of what you are donating will go directly to Irene Rose and Emerson for their participation to represent Canada on the World Stage and of course BRING HOME THE GOLD!
