We are a team of four Tunisian Engineering students, Asma, Moez, Ichrak, and Haythem. We have been selected among 100,000 teams and campuses to compete in the Regional Finals of the Hult Prize in Toronto, Canada!
The Hult Prize is the world's biggest student competition for Social Entrepreneurship that aims to solve world issues through student innovation and creativity, the winning idea wins 1Million USD to turn their idea into reality.
This is a great opportunity for us and we couldn't be more excited to pitch our idea in front of world-class judges!
Our project is to provide inmates the opportunity to shorten their sentence by pedalling on stationary exercise bikes that generate electricity, in the hopes that governments will start considering prisoners as assets and resources rather than lost potentials.
We will offer the bikes for the government and ensure the total management of the produced energy to serve multiple services (waste treatment, plastic recycling…)
However, unfortunately, we cannot afford the total fees of the trip including visa fees to Canada, flight tickets and accommodation which will cost 10'000 TND (5000 $CAD).
To confirm that we are ready and willing to compete, we need money no later than the end of January!
Your support means a lot to us, not only would it provide four students from Tunisia to travel to Canada to represent their school and country for the first time, but also it would grant us the opportunity to help change the world and meet amazing people from all over the world who also share the same spirit and ambitions as us!
