This fundraising goal reflects the costs for the following:
•20 respirators
•20 goggles
•4 tactical rapid response medic kits
•20 vests
•20 hard hats/helmets
•100 reflective vests
Police and fascists are murdering us in the streets.
Building on the success of the effort to raise the funds to distribute dozens of full-face military grade gas masks to protect protesters in Portland, we want to address the next major threat: cops and racists shooting and running over protestors. We've already had numerous incidents with Nazis in places like Norco, Yucaipa and Highland where White Supremacists brandished weapons or physically assaulted protesters.
As we continue to exercise our 1A we need to be Hyper-Vigilant moving forward.
Our goal is to buy ballistic vests to distribute to medics, journalists, organizers, and homies on the front lines of the protests in the IE. Every dollar we raise will be used to buy Ballistic Vests, , Military Grade Respirators and Medic Kits. Let's get life saving gear on as many people as possible!
Why?? In short, this is harm reduction. This might very well save lives.
After 90+ days of protests since the Minneapolis police murdered George Floyd, the temperature continues to rise in In The US. Every kind of police agency from local to federal has participated in attacking, brutalizing, tear-gassing, pepper-spraying, and shooting impact munitions at protestors. Police are routinely armed with rifles and live ammunition; on several occasions, officers have pulled out their sidearms and pointed them at protestors.
Every Single Dollar raised will go to organizers and community leaders here in the IE. Anything donated in excess of the goal will go directly to frontline orgs. I am a real person based in the IE (San Bernardino). Please follow @strangextruth for more info on how these funds will be distributed.
