I Want To Live To Do Lots Of Good Things

I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called adenoid cystic carcinoma & it was found in my salivary glands in June 2013. The hospital where I'm being treated only offered a barbaric procedure to remove the cancer. It would include: cutting my lower lip, breaking my bottom jaw, & the removal of 50% of my tongue. I would also lose my lower teeth, I would never be able to eat solids again, but most of all I would lose my ability to speak normally. I would lose my voice. I am a very outspoken person & I like to use my voice to speak up for those less fortunate. I can't imagine losing my most powerful weapon. The other option is radiation, but the survival rate is only 50%. I am now looking for new technology at hospitals that are rated #1 in the United States, but unfortunately I need help with the costs. No matter in the end which option I choose, the costs of this disease will be enormous, weather it be the cost of the surgery itself (which could be over $100,000), the cost of dental implants (if the barbaric surgery is my only option), travel to & from the hospitals I receive treatment, doctors appointments (appointments at the hospitals where I'm uninsured are around $1,000), and so on. I will adjust my goal amount accordingly. I do not want to accept more than I need. I never imagined my life would come to this. I never imagined I would be asking people for money, but I've reached a point of desperation. My goal in life before I found out that I was sick was to help people. I really hope I get that opportunity for many years to come. Insha Allah. A lot of people don't know the meaning of Insha Allah. This means God willing. I have a strong desire to learn the Arabic language & this is just one more thing that will be taken from me if I have to have that surgery. I thank everyone that helps.
