Last year, Trinity Educational Center, Inc. (TEC) raised money and products for the “I AM SOMEBODY” Winter Blessings 2018 community event, held on December 15, 2018. TEC Ignite was able to feed, clothe, and distribute goodie bags (personal hygiene, snacks, and other donated items) to more than 80 individuals. Furthermore, we were able to deliver hot coffee during January – April 2019.
Moreover, last year, a homeless encampment at I-89 in Burlington, VT was destroyed, which left the homeless struggling in the cold and now forced to live in the woods behind stores and other businesses. We have limited shelters and only one that allows all people (alcohol and drug addicts) but only houses 40 (max nightly) from 6 pm – 8 am, November 1 – April 1. What happens during the hours of 8:01 am - 5:59 pm? What happens to the others when the number reaches 41?
TEC and Ignite are again joining forces to facilitate an “I AM SOMEBODY” – Winter Blessings 2019, which will be an ongoing community event. We can reach more homeless people by delivering hot coffee, food, clothes, and personal hygiene items, at least twice monthly (weekly if we receive additional donations).
The weather is beginning to feel like Fall, and we will start delivering next month and not end until we run out of items or when Spring arrives.
