Hurricanes Harvey and Irma Help LPC

Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is anchored in the belief that we are each leaders responsible in our lives for serving our communities.  Hurricane Harvey has already impacted many lives in Texas as has Hurricane Irma and in the weeks and months to follow families including some of our own sorority members will need lots of help to come back from the devastation.  Thankfully all of the Hermanas either working or living in the Houston area are alright as are those in Florida.  But I am asking to collect funds to help those who will need support in the near future to recover.  

I am one of the National Founders of this sorority founded in 1988 at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.  I am a Latina originally from the Bronx, NY and a 1984 Ph.D. from Cornell.  In starting this sorority along with four other young women, the goal was to have a vehicle for women to maintain deep friendships after they graduated.  The organization strives to foster Hermandad within its members and promote leadership and impactful community effort. There are close to 900 members currently at our various chapters representing an array of cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, religious, level of physical ability, sexual identity, and professional specialty.  (www.lambdapichi.org)

Please donate whatever you are able to. The funds will be used to replace destroyed food, do mold remediation, repair roofs and siding, do water cleanup, and replace clothing.  I will be withdrawing the donations and sending directly to the beneficiaries via personal checks, money orders, gift cards, uploads to mobile devices or paypal.
