Hope For Baby Mia’s Heart

Hayley and Simon; After numerous attempts to have a second child they were thrilled to announce they are expecting twin girls. This was very exciting news for their five year old daughter Holly. Hayley and Simon have proudly named the girls Mia and Maisy.
So what should have been a joyous occasion has been marred by some devastating news. One of the girls, Mia Hope, has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a rare congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped.
Mia requires life saving surgery shortly after birth. This surgery needs to be performed in Melbourne and without surgery she will not survive.
Hayley, Simon and Holly will need to leave their Adelaide home, jobs and school for around six months to enable them to have the babies in Melbourne and Mia to have her necessary surgeries.
Obviously this will cause a huge financial impact on the family.
We are raising funds to take care of some of the costs associated with the temporary move; such as medical costs, travel, accomodation, lost income and everyday living expenses.
No matter how big or small your contribution it will be greatly appreciated and will allow Hayley and Simon to concentrate on their new beautiful babies, Mia and Maisy’s health and well-being.
