To Ecuador with a mission!!

I feel extremely fortunate to have been cast as part of the Dramatic Adventure Theatre, joining a team of 40+ artists traveling to Ecuador for a month-long journey with a mission to inspire learning, self-expression and cross-cultural collaboration!!
This is YOUR chance to be a part of something big, important, meaningful, and distinct that can possibly impact a life of another child, or give another man or woman their voices back!!
To me Iris Murdoch said it so beautifully!!
"Education doesn’t make you happy. Nor does freedom. We don’t become happy just because we’re free – if we are. Or because we’ve been educated – if we have. But because education may be the means by which we realize we are happy. It opens our eyes, our ears, tells us where delights are lurking, convinces us that there is only one freedom of any importance whatsoever, that of the mind, and gives us the assurance – the confidence – to walk the path our mind, our educated mind, offers."
As someone raised to believe in the tenets of Ms. Murdoch's credo, I've always dreamt of promulgating this fundamental truth; and so dreaming of building schools and inspiring education in youth became central to my thinking and living! Now I am taking the very first step towards making that dream come true-- at a global level!!
Through theatre workshops and community service work, ACTion artists will interact with an array of disenfranchised Ecuadorian peoples, such as the Afro-Ecuadorian community and the indigenous Shuar and Quechua tribes. While endeavoring to empower partner communities to craft and perform plays that reflect their own experience, our cast will also devise an entirely new theatrical production, which will be previewed in Quito before premiering in Manhattan.
I intend to immerse myself in this mission, work tirelessly, and glean all that I can with a view to bringing this experiential knowledge back to share with different communities within the United States-- and perhaps one day take it even further - to my hometown in Georgia!
To make this mission successful I am asking for your assistance raising funds to support our theatre company's objectives.
