Hope For Katelyn
Little 2 year old Katelyn Calhoun went to the doctor on August 8th 2014 for a belly ache. After many tests, scans and doctors her mother and father were given every parent’s worst news; the pain was coming from a large tumor on her kidney. Further tests confirmed a rare form of childhood cancer called neuroblastoma. The next few months will be a struggle, as this little fighter engages the battle for her life. Mom and Dad have been at the hospital round the clock since that date, putting further pressure on the family, as they’re away from work and other commitments. Compounding the stress, Jared and Jenn are about to welcome Katelyn’s new sister into the world in October. This is quickly becoming a dire situation for their family.
Family and friends have banded together to raise money for medical expenses, and living expenses for Jenn and Jared as they approach this difficult time. We’d like to allow this family to focus all their energy on healing this precious little girl, and bring whatever relief from these outside pressures we can. With your help, we’ll see her running around with that carefree smile, and hear those wonderful giggles as she plays pain free.
