Honduran Scholars & Writers to LASA

Donation protected
We, U.S.-based scholars, are excited to have Honduran panelists accepted to both the Central American and Sexualities sections of LASA in Barcelona this year. The panelists include acclaimed writers and thinkers who will be theorizing the Honduran reality, post election coup of Novemener 2017, and its effects on the rest of Latin America. They will discuss current Human Rights violations and the illegality of the reelection of the current president. They will also explore resistance and people-driven responses to the current situation.

Despite generous support from the CAS-LASA Section we are short of funds for one flight, hotel stay, local transportation and food for our speakers flying from Honduras.

Your support via donations (as small or large as you can give) will help a team of top-notch Honduran scholars, thinkers and writers to participate in LASA this year.

Please consider supporting this effort, and thank you for keeping Honduras and Hondurans on the radar at LASA during these times when the International community has turned a blind eye to Human Rights violations and violations to the constitution. Your support, at this critical juncture facing Hondurans, is so important. Thank you.

We hope to have a Donor Meet-Up in Barcelona so you may get to know these great presenters, and of course we invite you to come to our panels:
