A Home for Stephanie & The Girls

Finding safe, affordable, housing in Maine can be terribly difficult.  As a newly single mom, recovering from years of isolation in her marraige, working full-time at a minimum wage job, Steph is feeling that the odds of getting her footing are stacked against her.   Her credit is not good (years of working minimum wage and barely making ends meet takes a toll), her minivan's engine just failed, and her meager savings, which she hoped to use to secure an apartment, she now has to use for finding transportation for herself and her daughters.  There are so many appointments and things with two small children and now divorce proceedings.   

Stephanie is trying hard to make positive changes in her life, with goals of completing a community college program to become a radiology technician and eventually become a property owner who grows her own healthy foods.  But her journey begins with finding a safe, affordable rental and transportation so she can continue to work and attend to the immediate needs of her family.

There is no time better than now to show Stephanie, in ways small and large, that we can help, that we care, and that we do not want to see her and her daughters fall through the cracks.  Every little bit helps, and your contribution will help pay for the first, last and deposit on her apartment as well as any additional moving costs she may require to get her and her daughters into their new, safe home.
