Help a Holmes Volunteer in Need!

Meet Kim, she is a selfless volunteer and empoyee at Holmes Elementary School in Clairemont.  Kim has volunteered for years at Holmes, in the classroom and on the playground.  It wasn't until this year that she was asked to join the staff, but still most of her hours upon hours spent at the school are off the clock.  Chances are, if you have a child at Holmes, they know Miss Kim's smiling face and sweet personality.  Why does she do it you ask?  Well Clairemont has been her home for decades, the kids help her feel young and she gets to give back to the community she so dearly loves.

A few weeks back Kim had a plumbing disaster in her home causing thousands of dollars of damage.  A pipe broke flooding the kitchen and several of the other rooms in the house.  The kitchen must be gutted and most of the floors replaced.  Although her insurance will cover some of the $17,000 in damages, it will not cover all of it, such as the water and electricity bills that have significantly skyrocketed due to the flood and cleanup.  There are other costs that are begining to arise too.  Right now the kitchen is unusable, the flooding caused electrical damage and simple conviences like the oven and refridgerator cannot be used.  The new kitchen will not be available for use for at least 3 months, forcing Kim and her family to eat out almost daily!  The cost of feeding her family is quickly adding up!  

In this season of giving I'm asking you to please give to a local family in need.  This is a chance to give back to a person that gives her time so selflessly to our community.  Help her regain her footing in the wake of this home disaster!
