The moment I sat in the auditorium of American Heritage School for the graduating class of 2017 ceremony, I knew I needed to attend this unique school.
American Heritage School is a private school which is founded upon the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the school, you have the unique opportunity to pray each class period, to speak freely of God and religion, and much more. The school teaches you to "seek learning even by study, and also by faith" (D&C 109:7) You are expected to live the For the Strength of Youth standards at all times.
American Heritage uses the 4R method: Research, Reason, Relate, and Record. You are taught to develop a love for, understanding and appreciation of the founding fathers and America. At this school you are not just being taught what the teachers think, but rather are expected to come to your own knowledge, understanding and opinion on subjects.
I have a strong desire to attend this school because I want to be able to defend truth when needed, serve Heavenly Father, prepare for my future scholastically and spiritually, and discern truth from error. I have always loved the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I cannot see myself having an education that does not promote the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I feel very strongly that I need to attend my senior year at American Heritage. I am sacrificing much to be able to go there. I am selling all of my toys, I am working at six in the morning on week days, I am taking little jobs here and there to earn more money such as welding tent stakes for trek, and most of all I am praying that my faith and works might be enough and that Heavenly Father will provide the rest.
Tuition to go to American Heritage School is $660 each month. My parents do not have the funds to pay for me to attend, therefore I must pay tuition out of my own pocket. So far, I have been able to earn one months worth of tuition. Each paycheck I get goes to tithing, then straight to my tuition fund, but I know that I am not going to recieve the amount of money I must earn to attend here without your help. The amount of money I am trying to earn is $2640 which covers 4 months of tuition. After the first semerster, I hope to recieve a scholarship which will help deduct how much I pay.
