Abby's Army

Spende geschützt

On February 1st, Abby was involved in a terrible car accident.  As she was pulling out of Bible study, she was hit on the driver's side of the vehicle she was driving.  Upon the arrival of paramedics, it was determined that she should be sent to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Abby has a broken pelvis, ribs and sternum.  In addition to the broken bones, she also has a deep cut on her ankle that extends to the bone.  Abby has two small bleeds on her brain.  She was placed in ICU and put on a ventilator to help with breathing, she began tube feedings on February 3rd.  Since then, Abby has been able to respond with nodding her head and giving us a thumbs up.  On Tuesday, February 6th, she was removed from the ventilator and has been able to talk some.

Abby has a long road ahead of her.  She needs to become more alert and this will take time as it will take some time for her brain to heal.  Abby will also be unable to bare weight on her left side for at least 3 months.  The next step for her is Shepherd Rehabilitation Center located in Atlanta, GA which  specializes in brain injury rehabilition.  She will also receive extensive PT and OT for all other injuries.

Abby is a beautiful, bright and young woman with a heart for her Lord.  She works at a daycare at a Christian school in Rainsville, Alabama.  Abby LOVES children!  Abby also serves with a Hispanic ministry in DeKalb County.  She has so many friends and family that love her deeply.  She is a great listener and an encourager.  She's in college now at Northeastern studying her basics.
Oh, and Abby loves coffee!!!  :)

Abby's life verse is Joshua 1:8-9
"Be strong and courageous, Do not be terrified or dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

We are all eager to see Abby get back to being Abby and doing what she loves.  As we all know, medical expenses can add up quickly.  We would like eliminate the financial burden from her parents so that they can solely focus on Abby's healing.  If you feel lead to help financially, you can donate here.

Above all else, please pray for healing!
