As you all know, I’m a unique woman with a unique life. I didn't become unique over night. I had a unique mom. More like a twin. My mom was a woman that never had anything handed to her, yet she dug her nails into wood and dirt to make sure we had at least the bare minimum. My mom had one battle after another from childhood until recently. She took all the misfortune and turned it into laughter and creative outlets that had her trying to make the best of each situation in her own unique way. My mom was the mom that took her shoes that had holes in them and gave them to someone who needed those shoes even more then her. My mom created miracles for people when everyone turned their back. My mom didn't have many miracles but she was sure to create them in others even when it caused her more harm than good. My mom did what she could with what she know how to do, and her one wish was that when she died she could have a party in her honor. Well, it just so happens that my mom took her last breath sometime this morning. Without anyone knowing it was coming, she laughed her last laugh, thought her last unique thought, and helped to create her last miracle for people around her. Now it’s my turn to give her that one wish. I just need your support. I have recently been medically disembarked from work and am having knee surgery soon. I am, like a lot of people, not prepared for such a trauma to present its self. I have built my friendships and created family from them. But I surrender. I surrender that I do not have to solve all issues and be everyone’s magic carpet ride. I surrender that I am allowing what I would usually call “Charity” to be something of a way for my loved ones to express love back to me. I am in need of balloons. LOADS of them! I need candles. I need creative ideas. I need tombstone funds for my family to be able to kneel down and talk to on those tough days. I need funds for cremation. I need funds to support relatives including myself to all come together. I need funds to supply food. I need funds to make this over all process easier. ALL FOR A WOMAN THAT USED HER LIFE TO BE WHAT OTHERS NEEDED. A WOMAN THAT TOOK HER ONLY PIECE OF BREAD AND BROKE IT IN HALF TO FEED TWO MORE. A WOMAN THAT TOOK IN EVERY STRAY DOG AND CAT IN SIGHT. A woman that didn't always make the right choices but she made them from her heart. Any support you are able to provide would be gratefully appreciated.
I personally Am needing you guys to make this party planning (memorial) situation not be so tough. This will mainly happen through funding. As this will allow things to be much easier for me. There are some lose ends that I need to tend to that involve getting my moms personal items back in my possession. I am needing to not feel so alone with getting these things done. Think of a family that has struggled a lot just to have food on the table. And though in my adult life I have created a life where food wasn't an issue, my family hasn't been as fortunate. It is important that these times we support each other as they are the times we need most support. I will personally grieve later as these things I have made priority for my mommas sake.
