45 Days Without Power...family in PR

Donation protected
As most everyone knows, the beautiful island of Puerto Rico was hit by a devastating hurricane on September 20, 2017. The island suffered greatly that day; it continues now, and will for a long time to come. I was fortunate that my incredible mother was a native of Puerto Rico and she raised all of her four children with a deep love of the island and culture. We have taken many trips there over the years to see family and enjoy the beautiful island. We have family that were born there and reside on the island today.  To note, all Puerto Ricans are American citizens, and they need our help.

We have offered supplies to our family on the island several times now, and each time they politely declined. Until now. It has been one full month for them without power, water, access to roads they travel daily and much more. My delightful cousin contacted me today inquiring how much a generator might cost. I investigated and shared the cost including shipping. As she, and most of my family members have not been able to work since many businesses are closed, finances are a new issue for them to face. She has, thankfully, been able to work a few hours a day since her company (a laboratory) works on a generator. Paychecks have decreased since the employers cannot afford to meet a regular payroll due to the reduced hours. It just seems to go on and on and on for them....

I was able to find a small generator for $550 (including tax) which would offer them the opportunity to plug in a fan, refrigerator and maybe a radio or TV for a couple of hours a day.  Normal for those of us with electricity, this generator would provide a much needed luxury to their daily life until the situation improves.

I am asking for any of you who would like to help my family to donate whatever you can. My goal is to buy 3 generators and pay the shipping costs which is about $210 each. I am trying to raise $2,300 to cover these costs. Ideally, I would like to raise this amount on or before November 15, 2017.

Your kindess for even stopping to read this message is truly appreciated. If you can offer a donation, we will be forever grateful.

Puerto Rico will rise from this tragedy! Your help will assist with providing some normalcy until things improve.

Many thanks to you!
