Drie jaar geleden begon mijn moeder vol enthousiasme haar eigen winkel. Zonder startkapitaal, maar met een groot hart voor mensen en het vak. Het was een sprong in het diepe, maar ze wilde haar droom waarmaken. 
 
Niet lang daarna sloeg het noodlot toe: door een dwarslaesie en meerdere valpartijen kon mijn moeder niet meer lopen. In die periode kwam veel verantwoordelijkheid bij mij terecht. Ik was toen 22 jaar en heb met alles wat ik wist – en vaak ook zonder te weten hoe – geprobeerd de winkel draaiende te houden. Dat ging niet altijd gemakkelijk, maar we gaven nooit op. 
 
Gelukkig gaat het inmiddels beter: mijn moeder kan weer lopen en samen willen we niets liever dan verder bouwen aan onze zaak. Deze winkel voelt voor ons als ons kindje. Het is meer dan een plek om iets te kopen: het is een ontmoetingsplek, een droom waar we keihard voor gewerkt hebben, en een plek waar we inmiddels zoveel mensen hebben leren kennen. 
 
Toch staan we nu voor een moeilijke uitdaging. Door de zware periode hebben we achterstanden opgebouwd in huur, rekeningen en voorraad. Zonder hulp redden we het niet. 
 
Daarom vragen we steun. 

Elke bijdrage helpt ons om: 
 
de achterstallige rekeningen en huur in te lopen, 
 
onze voorraad aan te vullen, 
 
en weer vooruit te kunnen kijken. 
 
Doneren is natuurlijk geweldig, maar het is niet de enige manier om ons te helpen. Ook door gewoon in de winkel langs te komen en iets te kopen steun je ons enorm.

Dear friends,
 
Three years ago, my mother enthusiastically started her own shop. Without start-up capital, but with a big heart for people and her craft. It was a leap of faith, but she wanted to make her dream come true.
 
Not long after, fate struck: due to a spinal cord injury and several falls, my mother could no longer walk. During that period, much responsibility fell on me. I was only 22 years old, and with everything I knew – and often without knowing how – I tried to keep the shop running. It was not always easy, but we never gave up.
 
Fortunately, things are better now: my mother can walk again, and together we want nothing more than to continue building our business. This shop feels like our child. It is more than just a place to buy something: it is a meeting place, a dream we have worked so hard for, and a place where we have met so many wonderful people.
 
Yet we are now facing a difficult challenge. Because of the tough times, we have fallen behind on rent, bills, and stock. Without help, we won’t make it.
 
That is why we ask for your support. Every contribution helps us to:
 
catch up on overdue bills and rent,
 
replenish our stock,
 
and look forward again with hope.

Il y a trois ans, ma mère a ouvert sa propre boutique avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme. Sans capital de départ, mais avec un grand cœur pour les gens et pour son métier. C’était un saut dans l’inconnu, mais elle voulait réaliser son rêve.
 
Peu de temps après, le destin a frappé : à cause d’une lésion de la moelle épinière et de plusieurs chutes, ma mère ne pouvait plus marcher. Durant cette période, une grande partie de la responsabilité est retombée sur moi. J’avais alors 22 ans et, avec tout ce que je savais – et souvent sans vraiment savoir comment – j’ai essayé de maintenir la boutique à flot. Ce n’était pas toujours facile, mais nous n’avons jamais abandonné.
 
Heureusement, la situation s’est améliorée : ma mère peut à nouveau marcher, et ensemble nous voulons plus que tout continuer à développer notre commerce. Cette boutique est pour nous comme notre enfant. C’est plus qu’un simple lieu d’achat : c’est un lieu de rencontre, un rêve pour lequel nous avons travaillé dur, et un endroit où nous avons fait la connaissance de tant de personnes formidables.
 
Mais aujourd’hui, nous faisons face à un grand défi. À cause de cette période difficile, nous avons accumulé des retards de loyer, de factures et de stock. Sans aide, nous ne pourrons pas nous en sortir.
 
C’est pourquoi nous faisons appel à votre soutien. Chaque contribution nous aide à :
 
rattraper les loyers et factures en retard,
 
renouveler notre stock,
 
et retrouver l’espoir d’aller de l’avant.
