Helping Hands for Christina

Her Journey:
It's my privilege to share with you the needs of my friend, Christina McKenna.  She has been on a journey fighting ovarian cancer for the last three years.  She has seen many doctors, been on and off various drugs,  suffered through chemotherapy, and more.  Each time making her body weaker and weaker, but Christina continues to bring God the glory through all her challenges.

Christina was not thrilled with the idea of this being done for her, as she says "there are always people worse off" but I knew that many of you have been blessed by her friendship like I have, and would want to be able to give her the blessing this time.

Behind that wonderful smile is pain and concern, but Christina will tell you that "God is in control".  Join me in sharing the love of Christ with Christina on this journey.  Check back often as I will continue to update her status.


Update as of Aug 11, 2017:

Christina continues on the battle, but has seen God's hand in so much of the process.

Christina was blessed by a friend and co-worker who referred her to an Orthodontist.  As you remember, she had been having tremendous problems with her teeth and jaw structure due to the previous chemo.  This Orthodontist was willing to help her at half of the cost that many others were quoting!  Half!   God is working through so many situations for her.  God is good....all the time.

Due to an increase in her CA-125 numbers, Christina is back on a Chemo schedule (10 hr infusion every 21 days).   The next one is set for August 16th.  This was not a surprise to her, as previous to this appointment her pain level had greatly increased.  This means her strength and ability to do things will greatly decrease. 

Christina is facing many ongoing costs of co-pays, drug costs not covered by insurance, parking costs, driving to Univ of WA, and a reduction in her salary at work (due to not working as many hours).  She is unable to clean at home due to her strength, so she will have the cost of getting it cleaned each week, and more.

Many of you have been wonderful in your prayer support and financial support of Christina and her husband Steve.  This is a long battle for both of them as Christina's cancer is growing quickly....and they need you on their team. 

Any amount you can give will help and I know Christina and Steve also greatly appreciate your prayer support.
They continue to give God the honor throughout all of this journey and He is her rock.
