Mark Martin is loved by everyone he meets, and has touched the lives of many. He is a selfless, humble man who at 32 was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. In 2008, he underwent Deep Stimulation Brain Surgery, and the result was a miraculous slow in the progression of his symptoms. It is now 2017, and other symptoms are starting to appear. His tremors are getting stronger, and his speech is getting more slurred. His medication makes him drowsy, and he's in pain. He goes to work tired, comes home tired, and is just getting worn out.
We, his children, contacted his physician and asked what we could do to help, and we were told that it would help for him to get a new bed to restore him every day. Mark and his wife, Tamara, have been sleeping on the same mattress since they were married 28 years ago, which was a hand-me-down from their parents in the first place. The doctor suggested that what Mark needs is a Sleep Number Adjustable Bed to improve his quality of life now and for a long time in the future.
We did the math, and the mattress and adjustable base together would cost us half of each of our savings accounts, if not more. We need help. Anything anyone could offer to help us gift our parents with something that would greatly enrich their lives would be a blessing beyond words, and we would love to tell them that it was bought by those who care about him and his story.
