Emery Strout of Machiasport, ME was hit head-on by a young fireman returning home from fighting the fire at Helen's Resturant in Machias, ME. The young fireman fell asleep at the wheel...an unfortunate situation. Our prayers go out to each of them and their families.
Emery was air lifted to E.M.M.C. in Bangor over 100 miles from home. He has had five operations so far with many more in the future. Emery has had a lot of medical issues in the past...one being a heart transplant.
He is trying to stay positive and would love to receive mail at: Emery Strout, Eastern Maine Medical Center, Room 521B , 489 State Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
His wife, Sharon continues to work as Registrar of Deeds for Washington County, in Machias, ME. She travels almost daily to E.M.M.C. to visit her husband. Friends are planning a supper for them in September but they could use some help right now. Please help if you can.
