Helping A Muslim Brother:House Robbery

Donation protected
If someone were to ask me of the hardest working person I know, I would without a doubt mention the name of the individual I am fundraising for. This is someone who I have grown to know throughout high school and college. He's one of those people that needed to work for everything in his life. While we sit and complain about the stresses of school and social life, spending our money to fulfill our desires, this brother is tackling personal issues that would baffle most of us. He not only works and goes to school, but he also pays for his higher education and supports his family financially. With a father falling terminally ill, an immediate relative with cancer, and another sibling to take care of, he has quite the number of adversities on his plate. Even then, one can still look at his family and see nothing but happiness and sincerity because they are firm believers of the will of God.

A few days ago, as most of us went home to a warm dinner, he came home to a scene of police cruisers and sirens at his front doorstep. His house was robbed and ransacked. The burglars stole anything of value and decimated everything else. His house looked like a miniature tornado had passed through. Imagine walking into YOUR house only to find a scene that would be befitting of one's worst nightmare. As most of us slept that night, his family stayed up trying to piece together and salvage anything they could from their broken home. God is my witness, and I can swear to you all I have never met a brother at the University of Houston that works as hard and has overcome as many adversities as this brother.

I can guarantee you all every donation no matter how small, will benefit this family. He is too modest to even think about extending his hand to ask for assistance, so I am asking for a small sacrifice of your money to bring ease to a family in need.

I am asking all of you to sacrifice for the sake of yourself. As said by the Prophet (SAW), "The Muslim ummah is like one body. If the eye is in pain, then the whole body is in pain, and if the head is in pain, then the whole body is in pain [Bukhari & Muslim]. As that being said, by donating you are not only benefiting a muslim brother, rather you are benefiting the Ummah as a whole. We all could give up eating out once this week and instead use that money to help out one of our fellow brothers. I am asking you all to place a monetary value on the importance of helping those less fortunate than you. I am asking you all to simply prioritize needs over wants. With every bit of honor in me, I swear to you all every penny and nickel collected will go towards helping this brother and his family to get back on their feet. Every dollar donated will go towards showing our fellow brother that when one of us falls down; WE will help him get back up.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan and may Allah accept all of our good deeds.
