Vanessa's Study Abroad to Ghana

Hello my beautiful people!
My name is Vanessa Jones. I will be fulfilling my passion for International Affairs this June (2018) by studying abroad in the great country of Ghana, Africa.
I am currently a junior at Kennesaw State University where I’m majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in Diplomacy and minoring in Legal Studies. Upon graduation, I plan on attending Law school and studying International Law. After, I plan on obtaining a job at the United Nations as an attorney to aid in keeping peace amongst nations.
This study abroad program will give me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the incredible culture and land of Ghana. Through this trip, I will be enrolled in 1 class while interning at Cape Coast slave castle and volunteering at a local orphanage. Along with these undertakings, I also have the opportunity to learn even more outside of the classroom with weekly field trips to the cities of Kumasi, Larabanga and the village of Nzulezu. Some activities through these field trips will be visiting a stilt village, touring a game reserve, and going to Ghana’s first president’s (Kwame Nkrumah) Mausoleum.
I believe this experience will be extremely beneficial towards my future. Not only will I be enhancing my knowledge while living in a different country for a month, but this experience will also give me the competitive edge I need for securing a spot within the United Nations.
