Last night VJ passed away due to complications from his surgery. He was surrounded by his fiancé and family. I truly believe there isn't a better way to part from this world. We shared memories of his beautiful life during his last few moments with us. There was laughter and joy even in the face of tragedy. Many of us have found a peace about this, as we know his heart will continue to beat in each of our lives. In addition to the outstanding medical expenses, this campaign will now help cover the cost of his service arrangements. Anything raised above these needs will go to supporting nonprofit organizations that VJ was passionate about.
VJ Rodriguez was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). Before the age of 5, he underwent 3 open-heart surgeries. On 11/29/17, VJ underwent his 4th open-heart surgery.
VJ was a kind and loving son, brother, and friend. He was engaged to marry the love of his life, Daniela Victoria in the spring of 2018.
Although VJ was born with an unhealthy heart, it has been a vital source of love and life for the past 28 years. And from his broken heart, a healthy stream of love and kindness has poured into the lives of those who have been fortunate enough to hear it beat.
