Help Tito Beat Cancer

Several years ago, during a time I frequented a restaurant called Puerto Vallarta in New Albany, Indiana, I was introduced to Titiano, or as I would come to know him, “Tito.” I was a college kid, always up for showing off my (at the time, admittedly poor) Spanish skills any time I came home for a weekend.  What better venue than the famed “PV”? That’s how it started, anyway. I had no idea that Tito would become one of the best friends I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
    Soon, even staying long after closing time and helping to clean up just to chat wasn’t enough, and it wasn’t just about practicing Spanish anymore. He was kind, outgoing, selfless, and had this infectious smile that you couldn’t help but return. We began spending more time together, especially after I graduated. Long summer nights at the “bailes,” midnight fútbol, tequila tasting, dinners with the family, and before I knew it, Tito had become my brother. He was a part of my family, and I, his. I have never been treated with such warmth and hospitality as I was by Tito and his family. Every one of my friends, family, and anyone who has ever met Tito can attest to his character and genuine compassion for all. 
     Recently, Tito, mi hermano, found out that he has stomach cancer. It’s going to be a long road, and he’s going to have to fight hard. I know he will. He would never ask for help, but that’s why I’m here, to ask YOU to lend a hand to a guy more deserving than anyone I know. If you can spare ANYTHING, I know he appreciates it, and so does his family. Let’s help Tito kick cancer together!
