The Flowers Family Fundraisers & Support

Nicole & Jeff, and their two young sons -- Aedan and Avery -- are a young family living in Washington, MO. Jeff has been battling colon cancer for several years. In November 2011, we started a ChipIn for Jeff's CT scan. At the time, he was in remission and being evaluated for his eligibility to have a J-pouch surgery (so he would no longer have to use a colostomy bag). We successfully raised over $700+ over the course of a week, largely funded by donations from generous readers such as yourselves. It was at this CT scan that they learned that Jeff's cancer had returned. Over the course of the last two years, they've struggled with various mounting financial bills. Nicole sews cloth diapers to sell in her Etsy store and Jeff was working for Applebees, until he could no longer physically do it. It was then that we started raising money during the harder times via GoFundMe (link to follow) -- typically when things were at their worst, or bills were overlapping. But, as things go with awful diseases like cancer, things have changed. They were forced to leave their home, putting their lives into storage while they stayed in the home of Nicole's sister-in-law, Jen. Recently, it was discovered that Jeff's cancer had invaded his stomach. He had surgery yesterday morning to remove some of the fluid that had accumulated behind a blockage. We are all hoping he'll recover -- any time is precious time -- and be able to go home. We also know that Jeff has been fighting tooth and nail for several years now, and his body is failing him. A group of ~40 of Nicole's friends (myself included) has decided to band together in a massive online fundraiser. This page was created to keep track of those fundraisers, and to advertise them in one convenient location, so that we can raise money to help the Flowers family with any expenses in their future. Regardless of Jeff's outcome, bills are piling up and any amount that can be taken off their shoulders is more than welcome. Thoughts, prayers, warm-wishes or advertisement of this page is also welcome. At this stage of things, ANYTHING is helpful; even if it is "just" one more person on the Internet sending warm wishes to a family who they've never met.
