We are excited to announce we'll be expanding our family through adoption! We have had this special cause and love on our hearts for many years and believe this is exactly what God would have for us!
We've teamed up with Bethany Christian Adoption Services and applied for a Domestic Infant Adoption. We're so excited for this opportunity and would ask that even if you can't give financially to please keep us in your prayers as we go through this long process! Please pray for guidance, for the birth mom, and for a smooth transition into our lives. As many of you know, adoption is a very long and expensive process and the cost and fees add up very quickly from the beginning.
We have been very blessed with our own two children but the desire of our hearts is to have more children! Both pregnancies and deliveries with our own children, however, proved difficult and life threatening. Our first child's pregnancy ended around ~36 weeks with an emergency induction from severe preeclampsia, resulting in extended hospital stay and months of recovery. Our second pregnancy was also induced due to high blood pressure at 37 weeks, and on his way into the world, caused Justine to suffer uterine atony. This is where the Uterus doesn't contract and the mom begins to hemorrhage. Thankfully the doctors, after trying numerous procedures, were able to stop the bleeding. It's because of this that we truly believe adoption is the best way to expand and grow our family, and help a mom or couple who may not be able to keep their own child and give it a loving and nurturing home. It's a very hard decision when wanting to have another baby but deciding it's best for you and your family not to do it biologically. However, once we came to this realization, God made it so evident in so many ways.
If you find it in your heart to donate to our cause, know that all the funds will be going to pay adoption fees, government fees, placement fees, etc. We know this is what God has for our family and that the funds will be provided. We have already submitted our formal application (stacks of fun paperwork), and are in the process of background checks before the home studies begin!
