My sweet Tannaz has been diagnosed with stage 2 invasive breast cancer. On Labor Day weekend, she noticed a lump in her breast, we immediately schedule an appointment with her OBGYN on Sept 5, 2017, after having a mammogram and ultrasound the Doctor was suspicious. The Doctor immediately ordered a biopsy and told Tannaz to expect the results in 72 hours. On September 11th, the biopsy confirmed the Doctors’ suspicions. If you lucky enough to know Tannaz, you know she is the sweetest and most caring person. She doesn't deserve this, nobody does.
We often hear the word cancer, but we never expect it to come into our lives. A week's notice isn't much time to prepare all the questions you have. After frantically calling and texting friends, co-workers, and family we were finally able to get an appointment at the Mayo Breast Clinic in Phoenix, AZ (Thank You Ashley!) If you have breast cancer, this is the place you want to be.
Tannaz has already had more tests than I can count, from multiple MRIs, Ultrasounds, and more. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning for Tannaz. She will have to endure 18 weeks of chemo, medication to protect her body and immune system during the treatment, surgery, more radiation, more medication and a lifetime of follow up exams.
I've come to realize how little we all have in terms of a financial cushion when we are hit with such a devistating diagnosis, this money will allow Tannaz to focus on her health and healing while beating this cancer. I expect the medical costs will be significant and she will need all the help we can provide. The last thing I want on her mind is how she will pay her bills.
