Steve Olson's Cancer Fund

Steve has struggled with pain in his back for a very long time. He was recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his back known as a chordoma. A chordoma is a rare cancerous (malignant) primary bone tumor that usually occurs along the spine. Chordomas most often occur in the base of the spine (sacrum) or in the base of the skull.

Steve will be getting surgery as soon as possible for removal of the tumor, which is about the size of a soda can.

Steve lives in Greenville, South Carolina, and has to travel to Houston, Texas for specialized care. The costs of travel, lodging and rehabilitation are high, and being away from work makes it even more financially trying.  After the surgery there is an extended period of time for rehab which will also be in Houston.

Steve is a loving husband, father and grandfather. He has a lot of support, but we want to alleviate some of the financial burden that the medical and travel expenses will cause.
