Stanley Woodard's Leukemia Fund

Donation protected
On Monday March 21st Stanley or 'Dale' as his family and friends know him, was diagnosed with an aggresive form of leukemia known as AML ( acute myloid leukemia). This was an extreme shock to him and his family. Since March, dad has had countless blood transfusion, countless hours of chemo, some of which were 24 hours, 7 days a week of continuous chemo, a bone marrow transplant. Dad was lucky enough to find not one but two perfect marrow matches within our family. It's been 4 months since dad's transplant, shortly after he became very sick and nearly lost his life.Dad ended up getting VOD, it has no cure or even a treatment EXCEPT a trial drug that is off the market and not FDA approved. My mother and grandmother both decided it was best to try the drug. It helped save his life, he spent months in Cleveland Clinic and then went off to rehab to learn to walk again. Dad FINALLY came home and life was getting back to normal and routines were forming again. About a month ago dad got sick again and was unable to eat, drink or even sleep without severe pain. After being admitted back in the Cleveland Clinc they discovered he has a bowel condition and requires a tube to remove anything in his stomach. He has a blood clot in his lung and one in his right leg and he's unable to be treated because blood thinners and/or operation of any kind is dangerous for a cancer patient with low platelets. The VOD has done severe damage to dad's liver and it's not able to be fixed. Dad's time here is limited although we hang on to all hope that a miricle will happen. We have never been the type of family to ask for help or handouts, we were taught to work for the things you want or need. Dad has always been the main provider for him and mom. They have both worked very hard all their lives to provide a great life for us but his health care has cost a tremendous amount of money. If you are unable to donate that's ok! We ask that you just pray for him and mom. Together we have always found our way, this time we just need a little help. From the Woodard family to yours, we wish you all a VERY Merry Chriatmas and a VERY VERY Happy HEALTHY New Year! #TeamStam
