Help Sharen fight Cancer

She’s my best friend – always a smile, a happy laugh, fun and enthusiastic for life – but she has cancer. Let me tell you about Sharen Abrams. I first met her when she walked through the door at my old Pilates Central studio to apply as a Pilates instructor. I think she’s the best. I’m biased, to be sure, because we been through so much together and I know how wonderful she is.
Everyone loves her and Sharen loves everyone. Her love for animals goes way back to when she lived on a ranch, used to work as a Vet tech and now volunteers at Barr Lake.  

Cancer never comes at a good time but Sharen had just been promoted to a new job as the Pilates Coordinator at Life Time Athletic Centennial, CO. This is a great opportunity, one she worked hard to achieve and richly deserves.

She loves her Pilates clients and wants the best for them all the time. Her personal example of living a healthy lifestyle was an inspiration to everyone around her.  She walked the talk.

That’s why this is so sad. Sharen is a fit, healthy, energetic, full-of-life person but cancer doesn’t care about that. Now she is fighting a tough battle to keep that enthusiasm for life and health against a difficult foe.

Cancer not only wages war on the body but on the pocket book as well.

Cancer treatments are expensive! No surprise there. Right now Sharen doesn’t have the stamina to work and her short term disability doesn’t start for another 60 days.  While her close friends bring her meals and personal gifts, the large expenses are mounting up, like an army gathering for battle. The expenses after insurance to cover treatment are significant. Sharen is in danger of losing her house and the funds for her future.


Here is a picture of her on the Pilates Cadillac.  Being upside down as part of your Pilates workout is great!  Being upside down financially is horrible.  Sharen would appreciate your prayers and personal support.
