Title: Desperate! Storage/Heirlooms

Hello Everyone.

First Part of the Goal Reached! The lien has been staved off!

Thank you SO much, everyone and everything which has made this happen. I am truly grateful.

Now, on to the rest of the goal.

For those who do not know what is going on --

I was homeless for four years, and my storage units went into major arrears. I am now working, and in a better situation so I can make my monthly rent payments (and have been doing such) but haven't been able to address my backlog very much, especially since they raised the monthly rent rates by quite a bit plus late fees have been accruing. I was also sick the past whole year, so my work hours were limited. Full time, but barely, and with days out for illiness. Not enough to 'get ahead'.

The people running the place have been amazing for their patience and willingness to work with me. However, push came to shove for leniency, since the property was being assessed to sell in February. I was informed January 14th of the situation of immediacy, and how it needed to be resolved before January 31st to stop lien fees (as well as the auction).

This is the part which has now been taken care of, with the contributions of some truly wonderful people, and the appreciated help of those sharing on Facebook – reached.

The agreement after this, in order to pay off the rest of the backlog, is an extra $400/mo, which is why the campaign is still up, because, although I am now doing extra work in order to reach this goal, it is difficult, especially since my rent and other costs of living have increased by a couple of hundred dollars recently. I am also not really supposed to be working more than 30 hours a week due to health reasons, but have always pushed beyond that, and am continuing to do so, just in larger measure. With this, I have to be extra cautious against doing too much, which creates chronic fatigue (which, in turn, causes an inability to do any work at all).

These units have valuables and many other things I had hoped to sell (but couldn't get into the units to do such), along with family heirlooms such as ceramics, crochet projects, paintings, and other artworks my grandmother, great-grandmother, and other relatives have created. I have personal art and writings involved as well as memoirs. Certainly, there is a mixture of junk included, which needs to be sorted through to refine. I was a third of the way through one unit, which I would be able to clear out immediately should these get unlocked. My strong desire is to refine and consolidate to lower my monthly bills as well as reduce any risk of this type of thing ever happening again.

A large reason I became homeless was when I moved to this city, I was robbed badly twice within a single year, and I already lost so much that was irreplaceable... it tore me apart. This would be devastating. On top of that, it holds what little could possibly support a move forward in life, rather than a setback. I already have had plenty of issues with medical and trying to reconstruct my life from scratch on one hand, while bearing debts on the other.

I am truly grateful for any help in resolving this situation and am showing what I put forth from work towards this goal as well.

My prayers are for hope and relief.

Bless you for anything you could contribute.

Most Sincerely.

Lynn

*The campaign has been updated to reflect a lower goal amount due to finding less expensive methods of shifting belongings combined with finding a storage unit with a discounted price
