WHAT HAPPENED
On the evening of Tuesday March 6th, 2018 Ky was tagging along, (like always), while collecting maple syrup on our property. In a split second, our other pup, Chloe, spotted and pursued a deer, with Ky close behind. The deer quickly led them out of eyesight, we immediately followed, and only caught up in time to find out we were too late.
Ky was hit by a pickup truck on a 55 mph dirt road. Thankfully, the driver stopped, which helped us to find her quickly. She was immediately rushed to an emergency hospital to find out the extent of her injuries.

HER HEALTH
Ky spent 24 hours at the emergency hospital being monitored. She was treated for road rash to her face and received staples to the wound on her head. During her time there, she was monitored for brain damage and internal damage to her organs.
At this time it was discovered that the majority of the impact/damage was done to her lower half/back right leg, where she suffered a shattered femur.
She was immediately transferred to the Animal Surgical Center of Michigan where the professional staff and Dr. Doyle went above and beyond to keep her safe during the challenging procedure of saving her leg and life. We are finally able to start the gentle and long process of settling her back in at home.

OUR BABY KY
Ky is the furthest thing from a dog that only a mother could love. She has an intensely loving personality for every single person that she meets. Running a business, out of the house, she is able to genuinely connect with all walks of life, a minimum of 4-6 faces per day. Dog-lover or not, Ky will have made sure you are a new friend. She brightens up countless folks' days <3 (oh and weighs down their laps).

Clients & The Pig

Ky has had her fair share of struggles in her 2 short years. As a dedicated, loving dog mom Ky has ALWAYS received all of the necessary medical treatments and surgery to keep her healthy and happy. In these first 2 years of life, her medical bills have been substantial, but have always been paid without hesitation or assistance. She is beyond worth it, and if you've met her, that goes without saying <3

Clients & The Pig

HOW YOU CAN HELP
This unexpected tragedy has been overwhelming, emotionally and financially. The sacrifice to help Ky goes much further than her medical bills. We are asking for any amount of generosity, big or small, while we are dedicated to bringing her back to full health.

OUR GOAL
For ANY quantity of generosity to contribute toward her recovery:

GRAND TOTAL THUS FAR: $5,593.35

Emergency Veterinary Hospital of Ann Arbor - TOTAL: $1,322.03

Animal Surgical Center of Michigan of Flint - TOTAL: $3,903.00

*8 Week Post-Operative X-Rays - $200

Tramadol Prescription - $19.99

5% GoFundMe Charge per Donation: $279.65

The prognosis is a long, uphill battle of very little movement until 8 weeks out. And a 3-4 month period before she can be free to operate on her own, without a lead.
This breaks our heart <3 But we are BEYOND blessed that she is still even with us. These are the children I've never had, and are absolutely my world <3

All the Love,
Corey, Sarah, & Ky
